Backup contents
TXT diary export contains text, times, saved transcriptions, weather and wooden-fish counts, not original media or appearance. Full .choicepath export includes referenced local media, wallpapers and settings, but not Trash, purchase credentials or cloud runtime state. iCloud note-only and full snapshots match these scopes, with one latest snapshot of each, not real-time device sync. Switching scope does not delete the other previous snapshot.
Retention, backups and deletion
Records stay until you delete them. Deleted notes remain in Trash for 30 days, then are purged on the next storage read or foreground check; you can empty Trash sooner. Optional iCloud Drive snapshots use your Apple account. Automatic backup checks run while the app is running, not as guaranteed continuous background sync. System iCloud Backup is separate. Exports and app snapshots are not additionally encrypted vaults. Local deletion does not erase old backups, emails or saved files; manage each separately. Offloading may retain app data; Delete App removes its local container.
Protect your copies
Store backups in a trusted, access-protected location. Check private content and media metadata before sharing. Integrity checks are not encryption. The developer has no diary recovery server. Resetting appearance does not delete notes; local deletion does not rewrite your saved copies. For complete deletion, manage local data, exports, app iCloud snapshots and system backups separately.

Do not send full diaries, passwords or payment details. For permissions, photos, speech, weather or iCloud, first check Settings, connectivity and available storage.
